EGYPTIAN LANGUAGE

Egyptian is an Afro-Asiatic language most closely related to Berber, Semitic, and Beja. The language survived until the 5th century AD in the form of Demotic and until the late 17th century AD in the form of Coptic. Written records of the Egyptian language have been dated from about 3200 BC, making it one of the oldest recorded languages known. The national language of modern day Egypt is Egyptian Arabic, which gradually replaced Coptic Egyptian as the language of daily life in the centuries after the Muslim conquest of Egypt. Coptic is still used as a liturgical language by the Coptic Church, and reportedly has a handful of native speakers today.

L'égyptien est une langue afro-asiatique autrefois parlée dans l'Égypte antique et écrite au moyen des hiéroglyphes. Maintenant éteinte, elle a cependant donné naissance à la langue copte, écrite au moyen de l'alphabet copte, langue liturgique qui a cessé d'être utilisée comme langue vivante.

Das Ägyptische (auch Ägyptisch-Koptisch oder Kemisch) ist die Sprache des alten Ägyptens und umfasst - im weiteren Sinn - auch das Koptische, die Sprache der ägyptischen Christen. Es ist ein eigenständiger Zweig der afroasiatischen Sprachfamilie, zu der u.a. auch das Hebräische, Arabische und die Berbersprachen gehören. Mit rund 4.700 Jahren Überlieferungszeit ist das Ägyptische die Sprache, die weltweit über den längsten Zeitraum hinweg schriftlich belegt ist.

Język egipski – język z grupy języków afroazjatyckich używany przez starożytnych Egipcjan. Najstarsze przykłady pisanego języka egipskiego pochodzą z 3250 r. p.n.e.  Język ten skończył swój żywot wraz z cywilizacją egipską i został zastąpiony w Egipcie językiem arabskim.
