EFIS

The European Forest Institute is an international independent centre for forestry research based in Joensuu, Finland. The institute was established by the European states: Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Norway, Romania, Spain, Sweden. There are over 130 member organisations and institutions, which are based all over Europe, and 7 project centres. EFI is described as offering "the best forest research contacts and acknowledged collaboration at the European level" [1]

An electronic flight instrument system, or EFIS, is a flight deck instrument display system in which the display technology used is electronic rather than electromechanical. Although cathode ray tube (CRT) displays were used at first, liquid crystal displays (LCD) are now more common.The complex electromechanical attitude director indicator (ADI) and horizontal situation indicator (HSI) were the first candidates for replacement by EFIS. However, there are now few flight deck instruments for which no electronic display is available.
