EFE

EFE is a Spanish news agency created in 1939 by Ramón Serrano Súñer and Manuel Aznar Zubigaray while the former was Spain's minister of the press and propaganda.Employees in Spain are represented by several labor unions. EFE has about 40 employees in the United States who voted on Sept. 29, 2005, to be represented by the News Media Guild. Workers ratified a first labor contract in Dec. 2006, marking the first time the company had ever reached such an agreement outside Spain.

The Efe were leaders of Turkish outlaws and soldiers in the Aegean (Western) region of Anatolia, coming at the top of the hierarchy of efe, zeybek and kızan. There are many theories about the origins of the word Efe.The organization of Efe and Zeybek were first seen in the 16th century during the Jelali Revolts which dismantled power throughout the Ottoman Empire. After that time, men who rebelled against local pressures and injustices and settled in the mountains were called Efe or Zeybek. The Efe were distinctive in their attire, weapons and general appearance, which were created for survival and to best suit the life of an Efe. For example, they wore shorter trousers than were common at the time, and a yataghan with only one side with a sharpened point which was useful in mêlée combat.

The Efé are a group of Hunter-gatherer people living in the Ituri Rainforest of the Democratic Republic of Congo. In the depths of the forest they do not wear much clothing, using only grass huts as shelter for their bodies in the intense heat. The Efé are considered one of the smallest people of the world. The men grow to an average height of 4'8", and women tend to be about two inches shorter.

EFE ist eine spanische Nachrichtenagentur. Der Unternehmenssitz ist in Madrid.Die Agentur wurde 1939 gegründet, nachdem das Vorgängerunternehmen 1919 durch einen Zusammenschluss zweier Nachrichtenagenturen entstanden war. Beginnend mit der Eröffnung des ersten Redaktionsbüros in Buenos Aires im Jahr 1965 folgten ein Jahr später weitere in allen amerikanischen Staaten. 1969 wurde in begrenztem Umfang auch begonnen Dienste in englischer und französischer Sprache zur Verfügung zu stellen. Seit 2001 existiert zusätzlich ein auf Brasilien ausgerichteter Service in portugiesischer Sprache.

Efé, nella mitologia dei pigmei è il primo uomo che il dio dei cieli creò sulla terra.Dopo che fu creato, Efé divenne cacciatore del suo artefice, a causa di questa mansione tornò sulla terra solo dopo molto tempo e nessuno lo riconobbe. Egli ricordò agli uomini il loro dio del cielo e donò loro tre spiedi da caccia celesti.

De Efé zijn een volk van jagers-verzamelaars die leven in het Ituri-regenwoud in de Democratische Republiek Congo. Samen met de Aka en de Sua vormen ze de Mbuti, een pygmeeënvolk. Volgens Dr. Jean-Pierre Hallet  waren er in 1930 nog 35000 Efé maar in 1960 was hun aantal al geslonken tot slechts 3800 overlevenden. Hallet ijverde voor een reservaat langs de Semliki-rivier, in de buurt van Viruga Nationaal Park.
