EBB TIDE

"Ebb Tide" is a popular song, written in 1953 by lyricist Carl Sigman and composer Robert Maxwell.It has been recorded many times, the best-known versions include those by Frank Chacksfield & His Orchestra (1953), Frank Sinatra (1958), The Platters (1960), Lenny Welch (1964) and the Righteous Brothers (1965).  Jerry Colonna also recorded a version.

According to John Scott Redd, Director, National Counterterrorism Center, the Terrorist Identities Datamart Environment, or TIDE, is the U.S. Government's central database on known or suspected international terrorists, and contains all source highly classified information provided by members of the Intelligence Community such as CIA, DIA, FBI, NSA, as well as many others. There are more than 300,000 records in TIDE, which represents over 200,000 unique identities when aliases and transliteration issues are taken into account. From the classified TIDE database, an unclassified extract is provided to the FBI's Terrorist Screening Center, which in turn is used to compile various watch lists such as the TSA's No-fly list, State Department's Consular Lookout and Support System, Homeland Security's Interagency Border Inspection System, and FBI's NCIC (National Crime Information Center) for state and local law enforcement. Redd represented this as a major step forward from the pre-September 11, 2001 status of multiple, disconnected, and incomplete watchlists throughout the government.

Tides are the cyclic rising and falling of Earth's ocean surface caused by the tidal forces of the Moon and the Sun acting on the oceans. More generally, tidal phenomena can occur in any object that is subjected to a gravitational field that varies in time and space, such as the Earth's land masses or the Moon. (see Other tides).

La marée est le mouvement montant (flux ou flot) puis descendant (reflux ou jusant) des eaux des mers et des océans causé par l'effet conjugué des forces de gravitation de la Lune et du Soleil. Lorsque la Terre et ces deux astres sont sensiblement dans le même axe, c'est-à-dire lors de la pleine Lune et de la nouvelle Lune, ceux-ci agissent de concert et les marées sont de plus grande amplitude (vives eaux) ; au contraire, lors du premier et du dernier quartiers, l'amplitude est plus faible (mortes eaux).

Unter den Gezeiten oder der Tide (niederdeutsch tiet=Zeit) versteht man den durch die Gravitation des Mondes und der Sonne verursachten Zyklus von Ebbe und Flut auf den großen Gewässern der Erde. Allgemein treten Gezeitenkräfte an ausgedehnten Körpern auf, die einander anziehen. Der Himmelskörper reagiert auf die Gravitationskraft mit Beschleunigung. Wenn diese senkrecht zur Bahnrichtung wirkt, beschreibt er eine Kreisbahn, bei Wirkung in Bahnrichtung wird er schneller, bei Wirkung gegen die Bahnrichtung wird er langsamer. In allen 3 Fällen hat nur der Schwerpunkt die „richtige“ Beschleunigung, die der Anziehungskraft zugewandten Partien werden stärker angezogen und müssten eigentlich stärker beschleunigen, die abgewandten umgekehrt. Deshalb wird der Himmelskörper zerrissen (z.B. Shoemaker-Levy 9)oder seine Äquipotentialfläche bildet 2 Bäuche. Das Wasser passt sich schneller dieser neuen Äquipotentialfläche an als die träge Erdkruste. Dadurch entsteht das zeitliche Auf und Ab des Wasserstandes, was dem Phänomen den Namen gibt.

Pływy morskie (przypływy i odpływy) – regularnie powtarzające się podnoszenie i opadanie poziomu wody w  oceanie. Wywołuje je zjawisko pływowe, którego istotą są siły grawitacyjne Księżyca i Słońca (którego wpływ jest około dwukrotnie mniejszy z racji nieporównywalnej odległości). Pewien wpływ ma również siła odśrodkowa wywołana obrotem Ziemi wokół środka ciężkości układu Ziemia - ciało niebieskie działające na naszą planetę. Przeciętny czas między kolejnymi przypływami wynosi 12 godzin i 24 minuty i zależy od ukształtowania akwenu a także pory roku oraz doby dlatego też nie da się wyznaczyć stałych godzin przypływu i odpływu w danym porcie.

La marea è un moto periodico di ampie masse d'acqua (oceani, mari, e grandissimi laghi) che si innalzano (flusso, alta marea) e abbassano (riflusso, bassa marea) anche di 10-15 metri con frequenza giornaliera o frazione di giorno (solitamente ca. 6 ore, un quarto di giorno lunare) dovuto principalmente a due fattori:all'attrazione gravitazionale esercitata dall'azione combinata luna-sole sulla terra, ma con netta prevalenza della componente luna a causa della sua minore distanza (Legge di gravitazione universale di Newton) alla forza centrifuga dovuta alla rotazione del sistema terra-luna intorno al proprio baricentro (spiega l'alta marea sul lato della terra che è opposto alla luna).
