Method named after Reinhold Voll, M.D., of Germany. In the 1970s Voll invented the Dermatron(TM), a galvanometric device. EAV is a purported means of diagnosis and treatment whose postulate is that a deviation of electrical resistance at any of over two thousand acupoints indicates a problem in the organ that "corresponds" to the acupoint. Practitioners treat "imbalances" by applying electricity to acupoints and/or with homeopathic "remedies."
