E3

The E3 Media and Business Summit, formerly known as the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), and commonly known as E3, is an annual trade show for the computer and video games industry presented by the Entertainment Software Association. It is billed as the biggest annual event in the video game industry. It is only open to game industry professionals, journalists, and guests of exhibitors, such as celebrities. As of 2007, E3 is invitation-only, meaning that instead of around 60,000 attendees at E3 there were only around 3,000-5,000. The reason for this change is to allow for a more intimate atmosphere where business will be emphasized. A separate conference called Entertainment for All Expo has been created to accommodate the public demand for a major, annual video game event.

Electronic Entertainment Expo, kurz E3, bzw. E³, war eine der größten Messen für Videospiele und Computerspiele.Die E3 fand seit 1995 jeden Mai in Los Angeles statt (Ausnahmen: 1997 und 1998 in Atlanta) und wird von der Entertainment Software Association veranstaltet. 2007 fand sie zum ersten Mal mit verändertem Konzept in erheblich kleineren Rahmen als in den vorherigen Jahren in Santa Monica statt. Spieleentwickler und Publisher präsentieren aktuelle Produkte und kommende Highlights. Der Besuch dieser Messe ist Fachbesuchern und akkreditierter Presse vorbehalten. Bis 2006 war die Messe teilweise öffentlich (70.000 Besucher 2005 laut ESA). Ähnlich wichtige Messen sind die Tokyo Game Show und die Games Convention in Leipzig. Seit 1998 werden auf der E3 die Game Critics Awards verliehen.

Electronic Entertainment Expo, znane także jako E³ albo E3, jest największą coroczną wystawą przemysłu gier komputerowych i wideo. Ekspozycja jest otwarta tylko dla ekspertów branżowych oraz dziennikarzy.E3 jest zazwyczaj organizowane w trzeci tydzień maja w hali Los Angeles Convention Center w Los Angeles. W latach 90. przez dwa lata ekspozycja odbywała się w Atlancie. Według Entertainment Software Association (w skrócie ESA; z ang. Stowarzyszenie Producentów Oprogramowania Służącemu Rozrywce) w 2005 roku wystawę odwiedziło ponad 70.000 ludzi.
