Druze

The Druze (Arabic: درزي, derzī or durzī, plural دروز, durūz; , Druzim; also transliterated Druz or Druse) are a Middle Eastern religious community whose traditional religion is said to have begun as an offshoot of the Ismaili sect of Islam, but is unique in its incorporation of Gnostic, neo-Platonic and other philosophies. Druze consider themselves theologically as "an Islamic Unist, reformatory sect",. The Druze call themselves Ahl al-Tawhid ("People of Monotheism") or al-Muwahhidūn ("Monotheists"). The origin of the name Druze is traced to Nashtakin ad-Darazi, one of the first preachers of the religion.

Die Drusen (offiziell Din al-Tawhid, soviel wie „Religion der göttlichen Einheit“) sind eine im Jahr 1010 entstandene Religionsgemeinschaft. Drusen leben heute hauptsächlich im Nahen Osten, insbesondere im Libanon (ca. 280.000), in Syrien (ca. 360.000) sowie in Israel (107.000, also 1,63 % der Bevölkerung (2004)), dort vor allem im Gebiet des  Karmel bei Haifa (Daliah al Carmel) sowie im von Israel annektierten Golan.

Druzowie (ar. دروز duruz) – hermetyczna grupa wyznaniowa, która wyłoniła się z egipskiego isma'ilizmu w XI wieku. Głównymi założycielami religii druzyjskiej byli Muhammad ibn Isma illa ad-Darazi i Hamza ibn Ali Ahmad. Sami wyznawcy nazywają siebie Muwahhidun. Darazyci - druzowie osiedlili się w północnej Syrii w 1017 roku. Obecnie największe skupiska druzów znajdują się w Libanie w pobliżu góry Hermon, w górach wokół Bejrutu i Sydonu. Mniejsze grupy zamieszkują w górach Hauran w Syrii i w północnej części Izraela - Wzgórza Golan. Ich liczebność ocenia się na około 500-600 tys. W dalszym ciągu odgrywają znaczącą rolę polityczną w Libanie, gdzie stanowią 8% populacji i obsadzają 8 miejsc w 128-osobowym parlamencie. W Izraelu służą obowiązkowo (poza szejkami - wtajemniczonymi w nauki) w armii.

Il termine Drusi indica i seguaci di una setta religiosa, originariamente musulmana, fondata nell'XI secolo in Egitto. L'etimologia della parola deriva dal nome dell'egiziano al-Darazi, che sosteneva l'identificazione dell'Imam fatimide al-Hakim (996-1021) con Dio. I Drusi furono oggetto in Egitto delle persecuzioni dei sunniti e questo li portò a cercare e trovare rifugio in Libano e nella Siria meridionale, dove risiedono tuttora, come pure in Israele, in Palestina e in Giordania. Ad oggi si contano circa 700.000 adepti della setta.
