Dragon Drive, the name shared by both the
anime as well as the
manga by Ken-ichi Sakura, is a sci-fi/action-based adventure that was released in 2002 in
Japan.The series, comprising 38 anime episodes and 14 manga volumes (7¼ for Season 1, 6¾ for Season 2), follows lazy high school student Reiji Ozora and a
virtual reality game called Dragon Drive, introduced to him by classmate Maiko Yukino. Although he did not realize at first, his dragon is the rarest in the game, and once he finds out, the game takes an unexpected twist.
