Andre Romelle Young (born February 18, 1965), better known by his stage name Dr. Dre, is an American rapper, record producer, record executive, entrepreneur, and occasional actor. He is the founder and current CEO of Aftermath Entertainment and a former co-owner and artist of Death Row Records. He has produced albums for and overseen the careers of many rappers, including Snoop Dogg, Eminem, 50 Cent and Game. As a producer he is credited as a key figure in the popularization of West Coast G-funk, a style of rap music characterized as synthesizer-based with slow, heavy beats. As of 2011, Dr. Dre is ranked as the third richest figure in the American hip hop scene by Forbes with a net worth of $250 million.

Dr. Dre (* 18. Februar 1965 in Compton, Kalifornien; bürgerlich André Romell Young) ist ein US-amerikanischer Rapper. Er gilt als bedeutender Hip-Hop-Produzent und als Begründer des G-Funk. Neben dem früheren Engagement bei der World Class Wreckin' Cru und bei N.W.A war er als Solokünstler aktiv. Seine Produktionen gelten als verantwortlich für den Durchbruch von Snoop Dogg, Eminem, 50 Cent und weiteren.

André Romell Young, alias Dr. Dre, fils de Verna Griffin et de Theodore Young, est un producteur, rappeur et acteur américain né le à Compton, banlieue de Los Angeles en Californie. Il a largement contribué à populariser le Gangsta rap et la culture hip hop californienne en général. Il est considéré comme le plus grand producteur de Hip Hop de tous les temps notemment pour avoir produis une large palette d'artistes, et comme étant le précurseur du mouvement G-funk

Dr. Dre, właśc. Andre Young (ur. 18 lutego 1965 w Compton, Los Angeles w Kalifornii, USA) – amerykański producent muzyki rapowej. Jest przyrodnim bratem Warrena G.

Swoją karierę zaczął występując w klubach Los Angeles, później stał się członkiem grupy World Class Wreckin' Cru (2 Płyty: World Class i Rapped in Romance). W 1986 spotkał się zEazym-E i razem stworzyli grupe N.W.A. (należeli do niej min. Ice Cube, MC Ren,DJ Yella, The D.O.C. oraz Arabian Prince). Po odejściu z N.W.A(powodem było niesprawiedliwe dzielenie pieniędzy z albumu Straight Outta Compton przez Eazy'ego-E) .W 1991 Dre założył wraz z Suge Knightem wytwórnię Death Row w której nagrał swój debiut "The Chronic". Album promowały single: "Nuthin' but a G thang" , "Let Me Ride" i "Dre Day" na którym to zdisował swojego dawnego przyjaciela Eazy'ego. Po tym wielkim sukcesie pomógł Snoop Doggowi nagrać debiut "Doggystyle" który okazał się jeszcze większym hitem niż "The Chronic". W 1995 do wytwórni dołączył 2Pac, który stał się kością niezgody między Suge'm a Dre. W 1996 Dre opuścił Death Row i założył własną wytwórnie Aftermath, gdzie nagrał "2001" i komplikacje "Dr. Dre present... The Aftermath"
