Overview
Also known as the Argentine Dogo. Dogos are loving companions, loyal protectors, and fierce hunters. They require early socialization with humans and other animals and early obedience training. They get along with children and other animals if raised with them but can be wary of and aggressive toward strangers.
Appearance
The completely white coat is short, thick, smooth, and glossy.
Grooming & Exercise Needs
The Dogo's short coat, which sheds minimally, needs to be brushed weekly. This breed needs vigorous exercise daily.
Origins
The Dogo Argentino was Argentina's first native purebred dog. It was created in the 1920s to be a silent, fearless hunter of jaguar and puma and to be agile, brave, and strong. It is a descendent of Spanish fighting dogs with bull terrier, mastiff, boxer, American bulldog, and harlequin Great Dane mixed in.
