Dispur

Dispur (Hindi: दिसपुर) is the capital of Assam, a state in northeast India.This place that existed as a locality on the outskirts of Guwahati, took its place as the capital of Assam in 1973. This was after Shillong, the erstwhile capital became the capital of the state of Meghalaya that was carved out of Assam.To the south of Dispur is the mythologically important site of Basistha Ashram and the Shankardev Kalakschetra, a cultural center created in the 1990s. Next to Dispur is the ancient township of Jatia.

Dispur (Assamais: দিছপুৰ) est la capitale de l'état de l'Assam en Inde. Cette petite citée, qui se trouve dans la banlieue de Guwahati, est devenue capitale de l'Assam à la création de cet état en 1973 lors de sa séparation avec le Meghalaya. Dispur (Asamiya: দিসপুর, Dispur) ist die Hauptstadt des indischen Bundesstaates Assam.Dispur ist ein Vorort von Gauhati, liegt ungefähr 10 km südlich der Stadt und hat etwa 8800 Einwohner (Berechnung 2007). Mit der Gründung des Bundesstaates Meghalaya im Jahr 1972 löste Dispur die alte Hauptstadt Shillong ab.
