Dialog

Dialog is an online information service owned by Thomson Corporation. As a provider of information (though not in form), Dialog was one of the predecessors of the World Wide Web. The earliest form of the Dialog system was completed in 1966 under the direction of Roger K. Summit. According to its literature, it was "the world's first online information retrieval system to be used globally with materially significant databases." In the 1980s, a low-priced dial-up version of a subset of Dialog was marketed to individual users as Knowledge Index. This subset included INSPEC and MathSciNet.

A dialogue (sometimes spelled dialog) is a reciprocal conversation between two or more entities. The etymological origins of the word (in Greek διά(diá,through) + λόγος(logos,word,speech) concepts like flowing-through meaning) do not necessarily convey the way in which people have come to use the word, with some confusion between the prefix διά-(diá-,through) and the prefix δι-(di-, two) leading to the assumption that a dialogue is necessarily between only two parties.

Le dialogue est une communication entre deux ou plusieurs personnes ou groupes de personnes visant à produire un accord. Il doit y avoir au minimum un émetteur et un récepteur. Une donnée émise, c'est le message. Un code, c'est la langue et/ou le jargon. Un objectif, c'est le but du message. Il se fait par signaux (auditifs ou visuels). L'origine étymologique grecque du mot se réfère à un concept traduisible par "suivre une pensée" (dialogos : de dia à travers et logos la parole), ce qui n'explique pas la façon de la comprendre. ---- À moins que pour vouloir prendre connaissance de l'esprit de l'autre il suffise de suivre pour saisir.

Ein Dialog (von altgriech. dialégesthai: sich unterhalten, sich unterreden; dialogein: einander zurechnen) ist eine mündlich oder schriftlich zwischen zwei oder mehreren Personen geführte Rede und Gegenrede. Sein Gegensatz ist der Monolog, das Gespräch einer Person mit oder vor sich alleine (vor allem im Drama). Eine etwas andere Sinngebung entsteht aus der griechischen Wortwurzel „διά“ („dia“) ([hin-]durch) und „λόγος“ („logos“) (Wort, Sinn, Bedeutung). Dia-logos = Fließen von Sinn.

Dialog jest to wypowiedź wielopodmiotowa - rozmowa dwóch lub większej liczby osób. Dialog jako gatunek literatury stosowanej, utwór literacki, złożony jest z odrębnych wypowiedzi na wspólny temat; nie ma jednak charakteru dzieła dramatyczno-scenicznego i jest zapisany. W starożytności dialogi były podstawową formą wypowiedzi na temat filozofii, np. dialogi Platona. Popularnym również w renesansie, przykładem z tego okresu jest Krótka rozprawa między trzema osobami: Panem, Wójtem i Plebanem Mikołaja Reja.

Wydawnictwo Akademickie DIALOG - polskie wydawnictwo powstałe w 1992. Publikuje książki o tematyce orientalnej - związane z Afryką i Azją, w tym również dzieła tamtejszych autorów (wydawana była np. klasyczna poezja sanskrycka, współczesna poezja chińska czy powieści z północnej Afryki). Ostatnio wydawane jest również literatura europejska.

Een dialoog is een gesprek tussen twee personen of meer personen. Het is een samenstelling van de Griekse woorden λόγος (logos, woord, taal, rede) en διά- (dia, door) of δι- (di, twee). In een ruimere betekenis geldt een dialoog ook voor een gesprek tussen twee of meer partijen, instanties of groepen van personen, zoals bijvoorbeeld de dialoog tussen werkgevers en werknemers, tussen de leraar en zijn klas.
