Derby d'Italia

The Derby d'Italia (Italian for "Derby of Italy") was coined back in 1967 by the famous Italian sports journalist Gianni Brera as the bi-annual football fixture in Italian football between Internazionale and Juventus. The name was also given to this fixture as Inter and Juventus were the only two teams never to be relegated from Serie A, AC Milan twice being relegated in the 1980's (though Juventus were recently relegated for the first time for the 2006/2007 for their part in Calciopoli).

Il Derby d'Italia è il nome dato comunemente all'incontro di calcio tra Inter e Juventus, anche se, secondo altri, tale definizione dovrebbe essere utilizzata per la partita tra Juventus e Milan. All'epoca della coniazione del termine da parte del giornalista Gianni Brera, infatti, Inter e Juventus erano le squadre che avevano vinto più scudetti in Italia. Con il passare degli anni, però, si verificò il sorpasso del Milan sui nerazzurri, circostanza che, secondo molti, fa apparire anacronistica l'attribuzione della definizione a Inter-Juventus.

Derby d'Italia ("italienska derbyt") är ett uttryck som myntades 1967 av sportjournalisten Gianni Brera. Derbyt spelas mellan Inter Milan och Juventus två gånger per år i Serie A (åren då båda lagen spelar i samma division) och ibland även i andra cuper. Då uttrycket kom syftades det på att inget av lagen har spelat i en lägre division än Serie A – Juventus spelade för första gången i Serie B säsongen 2006/2007 efter Serie A-skandalen 2006.
