Denmark's International Study Program
Denmark's International Study Program (DIS) is a Danish study abroad program, started in 1959, affiliated with the University of Copenhagen and funded in part by the Danish government. Classes are taught in English at University of Copenhagen facilities as well as at two small buildings on Vestergade in central Copenhagen. Most students participating in the program are American, although there are also a significant number of non-American students, especially from China and Eastern European countries. The program is organized around core themed academic programs across a wide variety of disciplines, and recruits its instructors from among the University of Copenhagen faculty, as well as a number of experts in various fields who are visiting instructors and teach classes according to their expertise. In America, the program is represented by the University of Minnesota.
