Tennessee. As of 2000, the population was 569,891. The 2005 Census Estimate placed the population at 607,413. Its

1963, the City of
Nashville and the Davidson County government merged, so the county government is now known as the "Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County", or "Metro Nashville" for short.
