Dave Grohl

David Eric Grohl (born January 14, 1969, in Warren, Ohio) is an American rock musician and songwriter. Grohl began his music career in the 1980s as the drummer for several Washington, DC area bands, most notably the punk rock band Scream. In 1990 he became the drummer for grunge group Nirvana. Following the 1994 death of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, Grohl formed the Foo Fighters.

Mitglied der Bands Scream (Hardcore-Punk), Nirvana (Grunge), Queens of the Stone Age (Stoner-Rock) und ist seit 1995 Sänger und Gitarrist der Foo Fighters, die er selbst gegründet hat. Obwohl er in seiner eigenen Band nur noch als Sänger und Gitarrist tätig ist und nur live für manche Songs hinters Schlagzeug steigt, sieht er sich immer noch in erster Linie als Drummer. Er ist vor allem für seine kraftvolle und präzise Art zu spielen bekannt, was ihn zu einem der beliebtesten Schlagzeuger der 1990er Jahre gemacht hat.

David Eric Grohl (urodzony 14 stycznia 1969 w Warren w stanie Ohio), amerykański muzyk rockowy, multiinstrumentalista, były członek zespołu Nirvana, założyciel i członek grupy Foo Fighters.Pochodził z rozbitej rodziny - wychowywała go matka. Już jako dziecko występował na zawodowej scenie teatru i tworzył pierwsze zespoły, w których grywał na gitarze.Dave był fanem The Melvins i to właśnie po ich koncercie poznał za kulisami Kurta Cobaina i Chrisa Novoselica. Ci dwaj byli zachwyceni jego grą i przyjęli go na miejsce perkusisty Chada Channinga. W 1994 roku, po rozpadzie Nirvany, założył z Patem Smearem Foo Fighters, w którym grał na gitarze i śpiewał.

Divenuto famoso per essere stato il batterista della celebre band grunge Nirvana a partire dal 1990 fino al suo scioglimento, nel 1994, a seguito della morte del suo leader Kurt Cobain, ha poi formato nel 1995 una band propria, i Foo Fighters. Nel 2002 ha collaborato come batterista per la band Queens of the Stone Age per la realizzazione dell'album Songs for the Deaf e con i Killing Joke nell'album intitolato Killing Joke 2003. Crea inoltre il progetto Probot, riunendo alcuni mostri sacri della musica metal come Lemmy Kilmister (Motörhead), Max Cavalera (Soulfly, Sepultura), Mike Dean (Corrosion of Conformity), Lee Dorrian (Cathedral, Napalm Death), Cronos (Venom) e tanti altri.
