In the context of the Community/Common transit procedure, the following definition of a data processing technique is given in Article 4a(1)(a) of Commission Regulation 2454/93, and in Article 10a of Appendix of the Common Transit Convention: "data processing technique" means: the exchange of EDI standard messages with the competent authorities; the introduction of information required for completion of the formalities concerned into the data-processing systems of the competent authorities.
