The Greater hedgehog tenrec or Large Madagascar hedgehog (Setifer setosus) is a species of mammal in the Tenrecidae family. It is endemic to Madagascar. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forests, subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, subtropical or tropical moist montane forests, dry savanna, moist savanna, subtropical or tropical dry shrubland, subtropical or tropical moist shrubland, subtropical or tropical high-altitude shrubland, subtropical or tropical dry lowland grassland, subtropical or tropical high-altitude grassland, rural gardens, and urban areas.

Der Große Igeltenrek (Setifer setosus) ist eine Säugetierart aus der Familie der Tenreks (Tenrecidae). Er ähnelt bis auf die spitze Schnauze dem Europäischen Igel, ist aber nicht näher mit diesem verwandt. Er bewohnt trockene Wälder im nördlichen und östlichen Madagaskar.

Le Setifer setosus est un petit mammifère terrestre qui appartient au groupe polyphylétique des "insectivores". Il ressemble au hérisson commun.
