Dasht-e Azadegan is a city in Khuzestan province, Iran. Its original name was Bani Torof , and in 1935 it was changed to Dasht-e Mishan. After the Iranian Revolution in 1979, its name was changed once again, this time to Dasht-e Azadegan. The residents of this area are primarily Arabnomads. Until 1944, it had formed a part of Ahvaz. The area contains important oil reserves, referred to as the "Azadegan oil fields."
