Das Island
Das Island is part of the
emirate of
Abu Dhabi,
United Arab Emirates but lies well offshore, about 100 miles north-west of the mainland. It covers approximately ¾ of a mile by 1½ miles. It exports crude oil and liquified natural gas by ship around the world as far as Japan and Europe.
Oil production began after prospecting during
1956-
1960 by the major Abu Dhabi operating companies.

Das is an Island in the
Persian Gulf. It is an integral part of the nation of the
United Arab Emirates. It is near the country of
Qatar and is about 2 kilometers long and 1 km. wide and is almost rectangular in shape. It is inhabited by approximately 3000 men supporting important oil and gas gathering, separating, liquifying in the case of gas, and exporting.
