Danish language

Danish (dansk) is one of the North Germanic languages (also called Scandinavian languages), a sub-group of the Germanic branch of the Indo-European languages. It is spoken by around 6 million people, mainly in Denmark; the language is also used by the 50,000 Danes in the northern parts of Schleswig-Holstein in Germany, where it holds the status of minority language. Danish also holds official status and is a mandatory subject in school in the Danish territories of Greenland and the Faroe Islands, which now enjoy limited autonomy. In Iceland and Faroe Islands, Danish is, alongside English, a compulsory foreign language taught in schools. In North and South America there are Danish language communities in Argentina, the U.S. and Canada.

Die dänische Sprache, kurz Dänisch (dänisch dansk sprog), gehört zu den germanischen Sprachen und dort zur Gruppe der skandinavischen Sprachen.Dänisch ist de facto die Amtssprache in Dänemark, wenn auch nicht offiziell geregelt. Es ist zweite Amtssprache in Grönland (neben Grönländisch) und auf den Färöern (neben Färöisch, meist in der Varietät Gøtudanskt). Auf Island wird es als Pflichtfremdsprache gelehrt, aber nicht mehr als erste Fremdsprache, wo es durch Englisch ersetzt wurde.

Język duński (dansk, det danske sprog) - język z grupy skandynawskiej języków germańskich. Posługuje się nim około 5,2 mln mówiących, głównie w Danii i Szlezwiku-Holsztynie w północnych Niemczech (ok. 50 tys. osób). Duński w charakterze języka urzędowego używany jest w Danii a także na Grenlandii i Wyspach Owczych. W Islandii, która aż do 1944 r. była posiadłością Danii, duński jest nauczany jako jeden z głównych języków obcych, obok angielskiego, norweskiego i szwedzkiego.

Il danese è una lingua appartenente al sottogruppo delle lingue scandinave del gruppo delle lingue germaniche della famiglia delle lingue indoeuropee.È lingua ufficiale in Danimarca e seconda lingua ufficiale in Groenlandia (accanto alla lingua inuktitut) e sulle Isole Fær Øer (accanto alla lingua faroese). Come ex lingua coloniale, è ancora in uso in Islanda. È lingua di minoranza, parlata da ca. 50.000 persone, nel land tedesco dello Schleswig-Holstein (dan. Slesvig-Holsten), tutelata dalla costituzione regionale. È invece sparito nelle Isole Vergini Statunitensi, colonia danese fino al 1916.
