The bontebok is an antelope found in South Africa and Lesotho. The bontebok has two subspecies; the endangered bontebok (Damaliscus pygargus pygarus), occurring naturally in the Fynbos and Renosterveld areas of the Western Cape, and the blesbok (Damaliscus pygargus phillipsi) occurring in the highveld.

Der Buntbock (Damaliscus pygargus) ist eine afrikanische Antilope aus der Gruppe der Kuhantilopen. Sie ist in zwei Unterarten, dem Echten Buntbock (D. pygargus pygargus) und dem Blessbock (D. pygargus phillipsi) nur in der Republik Südafrika verbreitet.

Bontebok (Damaliscus pygargus) – gatunek ssaka parzystokopytnego z rodziny krętorogich. Najmniejsza antylopa w podrodzinie Alcelaphinae. Wcześniej był klasyfikowany pod nazwą Damaliscus dorcas. Do bonteboków zaliczane są dwa wyraźnie różniące się od siebie podgatunki - bontebok właściwy i blesbok, obydwa uważane za jedne z najrzadszych antylop.
