Daan
For the Belgian music band, see
Daan (band). The Da'an District (;
Taiwanese: Tōa-an-khu) is an important educational, commercial, residential and cultural district of
Taipei City. The name of the district means "great safety" or "great peace", and the district is named after a village that was once located near the intersection of Xinyi and Fuxing S. Roads. The name "Daan" is pronounced as two syllables ("Da-an"), rather than one.
