Cultural divide is a term of
sociology and
human psychology, referring to attempts to describe the differences in reaction, response, and perception of people exposed to multi-
cultural situations. The phenomenon of the cultural divide has assumed particular significance in the modern world, particularly in the context of
globalization and dismantling of geographical barriers arising largely on account of the
Internet; emergence of
digital communities; and
digital means of interaction. All these have resulted in a high level of interaction amongst people of different cultural backgrounds. Bridging the cultural divide has simultaneously gained importance.
