Crosby, Stills and Nash

Crosby, Stills & Nash, also Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young when including occasional fourth member Neil Young, are a folk rock/rock supergroup. The band is known for their distinctive vocal harmonies and activist politics, and have a strong association with the segment of 1960s counterculture known as the Woodstock Nation. They are commonly referred to by their initials CSN or CSNY.

Crosby, Stills, & Nash (CSN en abrégé) est un groupe de rock américain formé en 1968 et composé initialement de membres de groupes des années 1960 : David Crosby (ex-Byrds), Stephen Stills (ex-Buffalo Springfield) et Graham Nash (ex-Hollies). Le chanteur canadien Neil Young (ex-Buffalo Springfield) a rejoint le groupe après le premier album de CSN, qui s’est alors appelé Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young (ou CSN & Y en abrégé). Il s’est notamment illustré dans cette formation au Festival de Woodstock. C’était un groupe phare de la fin des années 1960 et début des années 1970, un des plus populaires, en phase avec les mouvements contestataires de cette époque.

Crosby, Stills and Nash – auch bekannt als CSN – aus denen zeitweilig Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, kurz CSNY, wurde, ist eine Folk-orientierte Rockband mit David Crosby, Stephen Stills, Graham Nash und später auch Neil Young. Die Band ist eine der wenigen Gruppen, die es in den späten 1960ern in Amerika an Popularität mit den Beatles aufnehmen konnte.

Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young (spesso contratto nell'acronimo CSN&Y) è il nome di un popolare supergruppo statunitense di musica Pop/Rock che conobbe un momento di grande notorietà nei primi anni Settanta. I musicisti che lo formarono provenivano da tre gruppi attivi a metà anni Sessanta e specializzati nel repertorio folk-rock (gli statunitensi Byrds e Buffalo Springfield e gli inglesi Hollies). Tali gruppi erano considerati una sorta di alter ego dei Beatles e, almeno in parte, un tentativo di risposta americana allo strapotere del gruppo di Liverpool.
