Designated Reach: October 28, 1988. From its source at Williams Prairie to one mile from its confluence with the Crooked River.

After beginning with a series of prairies, the river winds through vertical rimrock cliffs and old-growth ponderosa pine on its way to the Crooked River. This primarily wild river segment offers scenic canyons and outstanding trout fishing.
