He has won everything in South America - the Argentine league, the Panamerican league, the Libertadores Cup and a silver medal at the Olympics. Hernan Crespo arrived in Italy in 1996 with this outstanding CV. At Parma he has lived up to it all and has been in superb form throughout the last three seasons. In 1998-99 he beat his personal best, scoring 28 goals. He is completely at home in the penalty area and has also proved himself on more than one occasion with spectacular long-range efforts. Has not always played as well for his country as he does for his club. He is the terror of the rival defenders. Nicknamed "Valdanito" because of his physic similarities with Jorge Valdano, 1986 World Champion. Argentine fans are still waiting for Crespo to give goals as Batistuta does for his country.
