Universe on a large scale, and states that:On large spatial scales, the Universe is

A cornerstone in every cosmological model of the universe. It states that there are no preferred vantage points in the universe. From the Earth we see everything which we would see from any other place within the universe. This principle gives astronomers the confidence that their theories should apply to the universe as a whole and not just to our own celestial 'backyard'.
