Coronie

Coronie is a district of Suriname, situated on the coast. Coronie's capital city is Totness, with other towns including Corneliskondre, Friendship, Jenny. The district border the Atlantic Ocean to the north, the Surinamese district of Saramacca to the east, the Surinamese district of Sipaliwini to the south and the Surinamese district of Nickerie to the west.

Coronie ist ein Distrikt in Suriname und liegt an der Küste des Atlantik. Im Westen grenzt der Distrikt Nickerie, im Osten der Distrikt Saramacca und im Süden der Distrikt Sipaliwini an Coronie.Der gesamte Distrikt liegt in der Küstenebene und reicht nur wenige Meter über das Meeresniveau. Die Böden bestehen fast ausschließlich aus Sedimenten der sog. Jüngeren Küstenebene.

Coronie is een district in het noordwesten van Suriname, met als hoofdplaats Totness. Het is qua inwoneraantal zowat het dunstbevolkte district van Suriname. Het district kent 2809 inwoners (2004) op een totale Surinaamse bevolking van ruim 500.000 mensen.
