Central American Tree Boa (Corallus ruschenbergerii) or Trinidad Tree Boa is a
species of
tree boa ranging from
Costa Rica to northern
Colombia,
Venezuela and on the islands of
Trinidad and Tobago. They are one of the largest species of Corallus, adults reaching length up to 2 meters. The colors are typically shades of yellow, brown or gray, only populations on Trinidad & Tobago are often patternless pure bronze. Their primary diet consists on
rodents and other small
mammals as well as birds and
bats. They are fairly rare in captivity only recently becoming more common in the
United States.
