Common Intermediate Language

Common Intermediate Language (CIL, pronounced either "sill" or "kill") (formerly called Microsoft Intermediate Language or MSIL) is the lowest-level human-readable programming language in the Common Language Infrastructure and in the .NET Framework. Languages which target the .NET Framework compile to CIL, which is assembled into bytecode. CIL resembles an object-oriented assembly language, and is entirely stack-based. It is executed by a virtual machine. The primary .NET languages are C#, Visual Basic .NET, C++/CLI, and J#.

La Common Intermediate Language est le langage de programmation le plus bas niveau qui peut être lu par un humain.Le code plus haut niveau dans l'environnement .NET Framework est compilé en code CIL qui est assemblé dans un code dit bytecode. Common Intermediate Language (CIL) (teilweise auch nur Intermediate Language (IL)) ist eine Zwischensprache, in die alle Programme der Common Language Infrastructure übersetzt werden. CIL ist eine objektorientrierte Assemblersprache und ist vollständig stackbasiert. Auf dem Zielcomputer wird die CIL von einem Laufzeitsystem (Virtual Execution System) in systemeigenen Programmcode übersetzt, um in CIL vorliegende Programme ausführen zu können.

Common Intermediate Language (z ang. Wspólny Język Pośredni, w skrócie CIL) to język najniższego poziomu dla platformy Microsoft .NET odczytywalny przez człowieka. Jest to odpowiednik asemblera jako języka pośredniego dla typowych języków wysokiego poziomu (tu: Common Language Infrastructure (CLI) wyrażający kod w C#, Visual Basic .NET, Managed C++ lub dowolnym języku z wielu (40+) języków kompilowanych do CIL). CIL jest tłumaczony bezpośrednio na kod bajtowy.

Il Common Intermediate Language (CIL), in italiano linguaggio intermedio comune, è il linguaggio di programmazione di livello più basso previsto dalla piattaforma .NET e dal Common Language Infrastructure. Quando un linguaggio è supportato dalla piattaforma .NET vuol dire che esiste un compilatore che traduce i programmi scritti in quel linguaggio in istruzioni del CIL, che quindi risulta avere lo stesso ruolo che il bytecode ha nel mondo Java. Il CIL è un linguaggio assembly orientato agli oggetti, ed è completamente basato su stack. Esso viene poi eseguito da una macchina virtuale. I principali linguaggi .NET sono il C#, Visual Basic .NET e il Managed C++.
