The Middle Fork of the Clearwater River includes the Lochsa and Selway Rivers, which are both excellent whitewater rivers. The Selway, most of which lies in Idaho's Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness, may be the premier whitewater trip in the country. Part of the exploration route of Lewis and Clark follows the Lochsa River. These rivers offer clear, clean water, beautiful scenery with great plant diversity, and abundant wildlife.
