A circular sector or circle sector, is the portion of a disk enclosed by two radii and an arc, where the smaller area is known as the minor sector and the larger being the major sector. In the diagram, θ is the central angle in radians, the radius of the circle, and is the arc length of the minor sector.

Kreissektor (Kreisausschnitt) nennt man in der Geometrie eine Teilfläche einer Kreisfläche, die von einem Kreisbogen und zwei Kreisradien begrenzt wird. Salopp gesprochen: Ein Kreissektor sieht aus wie ein Tortenstück, das man von oben betrachtet.

En cirkelsektor (kallas även tårtbit på grund av dess form) är en indelning av en cirkel begränsad av två räta linjer från mittpunkten samt cirkelns periferi. En sträcka ifrån cirkelns mittpunkt ut till periferin kallas radie och krökta linjen längs periferin kallas cirkelbåge.

Sektori on tietty osa ympyrästä tai pallosta. Ympyrässä tämä osa on kahden ympyrän laidalta keskipisteeseen piirretyn säteen erottama alue (viereisessä kuvassa merkitty keltaisella), mutta myös toinen puoli ympyrästä on sektori, vaikka yli 180°-kulmassa onkin.
