Scientology is een geestelijke beweging gebaseerd op een uitgebreide verzameling geschriften op filosofisch en organisatorisch gebied en notities met betrekking tot onderzoek van de menselijke geest, opgesteld en verzameld door de Amerikaanse schrijver L. Ron Hubbard tussen het midden van de jaren veertig en 1986.

Με τον όρο Εκκλησία της Σαϊεντολογίας αναφερόμαστε σε κάθε θρησκευτική οργάνωση που είναι αφιερωμένη στην εφαρμογή και προώθηση των πρακτικών της Σαϊεντολογίας. Η πρώτη εκκλησία ιδρύθηκε το Δεκέμβριο του 1953 από τον ιδρυτή της Σαϊεντολογίας Ρον Χάμπαρτ και τους Mary Sue Hubbard, John Galusha, Barbara Byran και Verna Greenough. Η Διεθνής Εκκλησία της Σαϊεντολογίας (Church of Scientology International, CSI), με έδρα το Λος Άντζελες των Ηνωμένων Πολιτειών, αποτελεί την κεφαλή της Εκκλησίας της θρησκείας της Σαϊεντολογίας.
