The Bible (from Koine Greek  ta biblia "the books") is any one of the collections of the primary religious texts of Judaism and Christianity. There is no common version of the Bible, as the contents and the order of the individual books (Biblical canon) vary among denominations. The 24 texts of the Hebrew Bible are divided into 39 books in Christian Old Testaments, and complete Christian Bibles range from the 66 books of the Protestant canon to the 81 books of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church Bible. The Hebrew and Christian Bibles are also important to other Abrahamic religions, including Islam and the Bahá'í Faith, but those religions do not regard them as central religious texts.

A Christian biblical canon is the set of books that a Christian denomination regards as divinely inspired and thus constituting the Christian Bible. Although the Early Church primarily used the Greek Old Testament, the Septuagint or LXX, or the Targums among Aramaic speakers, the apostles did not otherwise leave a defined set of new scriptures; instead the New Testament developed over time: see Development of the New Testament canon.

Als Bibel (auch Buch der Bücher) bezeichnen das Judentum und das Christentum jeweils eine eigene Sammlung von Schriften, die für sie das Wort Gottes enthalten und als Heilige Schrift Urkunden ihres Glaubens sind.

Bibeln (latin Bíblia), av grekiska (τα) βιβλία ’böcker(na)’, Den Heliga Skrift, är en samling av böcker (antalet varierar beroende på Bibelkanon) vars skrifter tillkommit under en tidsrymd av omkring 1600 år, från cirka 1500 f.Kr. till cirka 100 e.Kr. (enligt modern religionsvetenskap vanligen från cirka 1000 f.Kr.), och som utgör de kristnas heliga skrift.

Biblia, Pismo Święte (, biblion – księga, lm , biblia – księgi) – zbiór ksiąg, spisanych pierwotnie po hebrajsku, aramejsku i grecku, uznawanych przez żydów i chrześcijan za natchnione przez Boga. Biblia i poszczególne jej części posiadają odmienne znaczenie religijne dla różnych wyznań. Na chrześcijańską Biblię składają się Stary Testament i Nowy Testament. Biblia hebrajska – Tanach obejmuje część kanonu Starego Testamentu. Muzułmanie uważają, iż część Biblii (np. Księgi Mojżeszowe, Psalmy) powstała w wyniku boskiego objawienia, ale jej treść została zafałszowana.
