Choreografie
Choreografie (altgr. χορός ,Tanz‘ und γράφειν ,schreiben‘) bezeichnet heute das Erfinden und Einstudieren von Bewegungen, meist in Zusammenhang mit Tanz. Eine Choreografie wird ebenso wie eine musikalische Komposition als Kunstwerk betrachtet und reicht vom kurzen Solo- oder Showtanz (z. B. Michel Fokines Der sterbende Schwan, 1907) bis zur mehrstündigen Inszenierung eines Tanztheaterstückes mit vielen Personen und komplexer Handlung.

Choreografie
Choreografie is de kunst van het opstellen van dansbewegingen - meestal op muziek - voor optredens. Ook kan met de term de resulterende bewegingsstructuur worden bedoeld. De mensen die choreografieën maken worden choreografen genoemd.

Hoewel de term hoofdzakelijk gebruikt wordt met betrekking tot dans kan choreografie op diverse terreinen worden toegepast, waaronder:

Een ballet begint bij de choreograaf, de bedenker van een ballet. De choreograaf haalt zijn ideeën voor een ballet uit allerlei bronnen: mythologie, literatuur, toneelstukken. Hij bedenkt bij die verhalen dansbewegingen die ondersteund door muziek, decors, kostuums en belichting het verhaal op dansante manier vertellen. Soms kiest de choreograaf voor bestaande muziek, maar ook komt het voor dat speciaal voor een ballet muziek gecomponeerd wordt. Uiteraard is dan de samenwerking tussen choreograaf en componist zeer belangrijk.

Choreografie
Choreografie je odborná umelecká cinnost jenž spocívá ve vytvárení koncepce nebo kompozice nejakého tanecního díla, tanecního projevu formou tance nebo baletu. Slovo muže oznacovat i technické a umelecké vedení a rízení nejakého tanecního ci baletního souboru. Muž pracující jakožto umelecký a technický vedoucí nejakého tanecního ci baletního souboru nebo tvurce nejakého tanecního ci baletního vystoupení se pak nazývá choreograf, žena pak choreografka.
