Chalcis or Chalkida (; Modern Greek: Χαλκίδα , Ancient Greek/Katharevousa: Χαλκίς), the chief town of the island of Euboea in Greece, is situated on the strait of the Evripos at its narrowest point. The name is preserved from antiquity and is derived from the Greek (copper, bronze), though there is no trace of any mines in the area. In the late Middle Ages, it was known as Negropont (, "black bridge"; ), a name that was applied to the entire island of Euboea as well.

Chalkis (nygrekiska Χαλκίδα Chalkida, klassisk grekiska Χαλκίς), antik jonisk och nutida stad på ön och i länet Euboia i Grekland. Chalkis ligger vid sundet Euripos mellan ön Euboia och fastlandet. På smalaste stället är sundet bara 38 m, och det har ända sedan 411 f.Kr. funnits en bro till Boiotien.

Chalkida, Chalkis (gr. Χαλκίδα – Chalkída) – miasto w Grecji, na wyspie Eubea, stolica prefektury Eubea, ok. 53,6 tys. mieszkańców (stan z roku 2001). Miasto znane już w starożytności (prowadziło aktywną akcję kolonizacyjną), wzmiankowane w Iliadzie.
