Ceremonial counties of England

The ceremonial counties of England are areas of England that are appointed a Lord-Lieutenant, and are defined by the government with reference to the metropolitan and non-metropolitan counties of England. They are also often used in a geographic reference frame, and in this capacity are sometimes called geographic counties.

Die zeremoniellen Grafschaften (engl. ceremonial counties) sind Gebietseinheiten in England, die einem Lord-Lieutenant, dem persönlichen Repräsentanten des britischen Monarchen, zugewiesen sind. Die Aufteilung Englands in zeremonielle Grafschaften wird von der Regierung in Anlehnung an die  Verwaltungsgrafschaften vorgenommen. Sie werden häufig auch als geografische Bezeichnungen benutzt und deshalb gelegentlich geographische Grafschaften (engl. geographic counties) genannt.

Hrabstwo ceremonialne (inna nazwa: hrabstwa geograficzne) - jednostka podziału terytorialnego używana w Wielkiej Brytanii w odniesieniu do Anglii. Podstawą jej istnienia jest ustawa Lieutenancies Act z 1997. Podział ten nie ma obecnie znaczenia administracyjnego, a jedynie geograficzne i historyczne. Jest również najbliższy podziałowi Anglii, jaki funkcjonuje w języku potocznym i myśleniu większości Brytyjczyków.

Los Condados de Inglaterra (counties en inglés), son las regiones político-administrativas en las que está dividida Inglaterra. Cada una de ellas está gobernada por un Lord-Lieutenant, representante de la reina en la región.Excepto Huntingdonshire y Yorkshire, todos son condados administrativos. Hoy en día, Huntingdonshire es un distrito administrado por Cambridgeshire, y Yorkshire está dividido entre Yorkshire del Este, del Norte, del Sur, y del Oeste.El sufijo shire se utilizó antiguamente para los condados de Devon, Dorset, Rutland y Somerset, pero hoy en día ya no se emplea.
