Cellobiose is a disaccharide with the formula [HOCH₂CHO(CHOH)₃]₂O. Cellobiose consists of two glucose molecules linked by a β(1→4) bond. It can be hydrolyzed to glucose enzymatically or with acid. Cellobiose has eight free alcohol (OH) groups, one acetal linkage and one hemiacetal linkages, which give rise to strong inter- and intra-molecular hydrogen bonds. It can be obtained by enzymatic or acidic hydrolysis of cellulose and cellulose rich materials such as cotton, jute, or paper.

Die Cellobiose (auch Zellobiose) ist ein Disaccharid aus zwei Glucosemolekülen. Diese sind ß-1,4-glycosidisch miteinander verknüpft. Sie entsteht als Verdauungsprodukt der Pflanzenfresser aus Cellulose, deren Grundbaustein sie darstellt.

Cellobios är en disackarid som består av två glukosrester hopkopplade med en glukosidbindning mellan 1- och 4-kolen. Glukosresterna är i betakonformation. Cellobios är en nedbrytningsprodukt från cellulosa och bildas t.ex.av enzymet cellobiohydrolas. Många mikroorganismer kan tillgodogöra sig energin i cellobios.

Celobioza (C₁₂H₂₂O₁₁) - dwucukier, zbudowany z dwóch cząsteczek D-glukozy, połączonych wiązaniem β-1,4-glikozydowym. Jest to jednostka strukturalna celulozy i produkt jej hydrolizy. Jest to dwucukier redukujący, nie występujący powszechnie w stanie wolnym w roślinach, lecz jest przejściowym produktem degradacji celulozy. Jest sacharydem nieprzyswajalnym przez człowieka.
