Front center very hard, Cardozo excels by its capacity of closing, as much with the feet as with the head. Has not played as good as for Paraguay as he did for Toluca of Mexico. Played in France 1998 World Cup, scoring a one goal to Nigeria. Along with Fabian Estay (Chile), they created the best couple of the Mexican League, broking the record of goals scored by a team with 50 in the Verano Championship of 1999. Apparently he was sold to Arsenal, but suddenly everything went down and Cardozo stayed to Toluca. Scored his 100th goal in the Mexican League in June 3, 2000, in the Verano 2000 final vs. Santos Laguna.
