Carcass est un groupe de death metal / grindcore  britannique formé à Liverpool en 1985 par Jeff Walker et Bill Steer. Entre le goregrind de leurs deux premiers albums, Reek of Putrefaction et Symphonies of Sickness, et le « death rock » de Swansong, le groupe a su faire évoluer sa musique en gardant toujours un haut niveau technique et humoristique.

Carcass är ett brittiskt goregrind/death metal-band som bildades av Napalm Deaths gitarrist Bill Steer, tillsammans med trummisen Ken Owen 1985 i Liverpool, England. 1987 började basisten och sångaren Jeffrey Walker (tidigare i Electro Hippies) i bandet.

Na ich pierwszej taśmie demo, Sanjiv nagrał partie wokalne. W 1987 roku, basista i wokalista Jeffrey Walker, dawniej Electro Hippies, dołączył do ich składu. Carcass jest uważany przez wielu za jeden z najbardziej wpływowych i utalentowanych zespołów na scenie death metalowej.
