.cd is the Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for the Democratic Republic of Congo. It was created in 1997 as a replacement for the .zr (Zaire) ccTLD, which was phased out and eventually deleted in 2001.

Ceské dráhy (CD) or Czech Railways is the main railway operator in the Czech Republic. In 2010 its consolidated revenues reached CZK 41.0 billion (€1.6bn, $2.1bn). Revenues from passenger transport amounted to CZK 18.7 billion (65% transfer payments from the government, 25% intra-state transport, 10% international transport), revenues from freight transport operated by subsidiary CD Cargo amounted to CZK 11.8 billion, revenues from traffic control invoiced to state-owned railway infrastructure operator SŽDC amounted to CZK 5.2 billion. With thirty-eight thousand employees CD Group is the largest Czech company by the number of employees.

Compact Disc
The Compact Disc (also known as a CD) is an optical disc used to store digital data. It was originally developed to store and play back sound recordings only, but the format was later adapted for storage of data (CD-ROM), write-once audio and data storage (CD-R), rewritable media (CD-RW), Video Compact Discs (VCD), Super Video Compact Discs (SVCD), PhotoCD, PictureCD, CD-i, and Enhanced CD. Audio CDs and audio CD players have been commercially available since October 1982.

Ceské dráhy
Ceské dráhy [] (deutsch Tschechische Bahnen), Kurzbezeichnung CD, ist der größte Betreiber von Eisenbahnverkehr in Tschechien. Die staatliche Eisenbahngesellschaft entstand im Zuge der Teilung der Tschechoslowakei am 1. Januar 1993 aus einem Teil der Tschechoslowakischen Staatsbahnen (CSD).

Compact Disc
Die Compact Disc (CD, engl. „kompakte Scheibe“) ist ein optischer Speicher, der Anfang der 1980er-Jahre zur digitalen Speicherung von Musik von Philips und PolyGram in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Chemiekonzern Bayer eingeführt wurde (Audio-CD) und die Schallplatte ablösen sollte.

CD++
CD++ est un logiciel destiné à la modélisation et la simulation à événements discrets basées sur le formalisme DEVS. Il peut fonctionner en mode autonome (un seul ordinateur), en mode serveur, en mode temps réel ou encore en mode parallèle sur un cluster Linux. CD++ s'utilise en ligne de commande. Toutefois, il existe une interface graphique nommée CD++Builder qui fonctionne comme un plugin pour Eclipse.

CD
CD, cd eller cd-skiva, egentligen en förkortning för Compact Disc (engelska för 'kompaktskiva'), är ett optiskt lagringsmedium där informationen är mekaniskt lagrad i form av gropar med varierande längd vilka avläses med en laser. Lasern känner av ojämnheterna i den reflekterande ytan och omvandlar dessa till en digital signal vilken i sin tur avkodas och omvandlas till data. CD-skivan är 12 cm i diameter.

Ceské dráhy
ČD, (cz.) České dráhy (pl. Koleje Czeskie) – największy przewoźnik kolejowy w Republice Czeskiej, prowadzący przewozy pasażerskie i towarowe oraz zajmujący się budową i eksploatacją linii kolejowych na terenie Czech.
České dráhy są kontynuatorem ponad 160-letniej historii kolejnictwa na ziemiach Czech, Moraw i Śląska, a także zatrudniają największą ilość pracowników (ponad 70 000 osób). W latach 90. XX wieku borykały się ze zmniejszoną ilością przewożonych pasażerów i towarów, związaną m.in. ze złym stanem infrastruktury i taboru. W ostatnich latach stan trakcji poprawił się m.in. dzięki budowie systemu "korytarzy", na których maksymalna prędkość może wynosić do 160 km/h.

Płyta kompaktowa (ang. Compact Disc, CD-ROM – Compact Disc – Read Only Memory) — poliwęglanowy krążek z zakodowaną cyfrowo informacją do bezkontaktowego odczytu światłem lasera optycznego. Ten sam format używany jest dla standardu płyt muzycznych. Dzięki dużej pojemności, niezawodności i niskiej cenie, dysk kompaktowy stał się najbardziej popularnym medium do zapisywania danych.
