CART

A cart is a vehicle or device, using two wheels and normally one horse, designed for transport. A dray or wagon is a heavy transport vehicle with four wheels and normally at least two horses. Other animals such as oxen, zebu cattle or donkeys are sometimes used instead of a horse. A handcart is pulled or pushed by a person.

Champ Car, an abbreviation of "Championship Car", has been the name for a class and specification of cars used in American Championship Car Racing for many decades. It is also commonly used to refer to the Champ Car World Series, an international open-wheel championship based largely in North America and formerly known as Championship Auto Racing Teams, or CART. Under the CART organization the series was officially known as the CART PPG IndyCar World Series, the CART FedEx Championship Series, and, in the organization's final year, the Bridgestone Presents The Champ Car World Series Powered By Ford.

Champ Car (abréviation de Championship Car) est un terme générique qui a longtemps désigné les voitures du championnat américain de monoplaces, notamment lorsque ce dernier était organisé par l'AAA puis l'USAC. De 2004 à 2007, c'était le nom officiel du championnat organisé par l'OWRS (Open Wheel Racing Series), l'organisme qui a succédé au CART, championnat américain fondé en 1979. Il a été annoncé le 22 février 2008 que ce championnat fusionnait avec son rival, l'IndyCar Series. Le nouveau championnat reprendra la structure, les voitures, et la majorité des épreuves de l'IndyCar Series.

Das Gesicht Mohammeds (dän.: „Muhammeds ansigt“) ist eine Serie von zwölf Karikaturen, die den islamischen Propheten und Religionsstifter Mohammed zum Thema haben. Sie wurden am 30. September 2005 in der dänischen Tageszeitung Jyllands-Posten und am 17. Oktober in der ägyptischen Zeitung Al Fager veröffentlicht. Die Existenz eines Verbots bildlicher Darstellung des Gesichts Mohammeds ist im Islam umstritten und wird unterschiedlich streng ausgelegt. Dennoch stellt die Abbildung Mohammeds in den Augen vieler Muslime eine Herabwürdigung ihres Propheten dar.

Od 2004 roku tożsama z mistrzostwami Bridgestone presents Champ Car World Series powered by Ford.Pierwsze mistrzostwa samochodowe w Stanach Zjednoczonych zorganizowano w 1902 roku, lecz oficjalna klasyfikacja została wprowadzona dopiero w 1919 roku, gdy zarządzanie serią przejął American Automobile Association (AAA). Równocześnie - w formie retrospekcji - przyznano tytuły mistrzowskie za wszystkie dotychczas rozegrane sezony. W 1951 roku ponownie obliczono wyniki i w efekcie dwa tytuły mistrzowskie zostały przyznane innym kierowcom (dotyczyło to sezonów 1909 i 1920).

Champ Car è il nome attuale della serie automobilistica precedentemente nota come CART. Basata negli Stati Uniti d'America ma con gare anche in Canada, Messico e Australia la Champ Car è una delle due principali serie americane per monoposto dopo la divisione con la Indy Racing League (IRL) che comprende la 500 Miglia di Indianapolis. Il nome ufficiale completo per la stagione 2006 è Champ Car World Series (CCWS), mentre la dizione promozionale è Bridgestone Presents the Champ Car World Series Powered by Ford. Nel 2007, persa la Ford come main sponsor, la serie è ritornata alla vecchia nominazione di Champ Car World Series. Nel 2008, la serie è stata acquistata da Tony George, ponendo fine ad un lungo periodo di difficoltà economiche.
