C. Wright Mills
Charles Wright Mills (August 28, 1916, Waco, Texas – March 20, 1962, West Nyack, New York) was an American sociologist. Mills is best remembered for his 1959 book The Sociological Imagination in which he lays out a view of the proper relationship between biography and history, theory and method in sociological scholarship. He is also known for studying the structures of power and class in the U.S. in his book The Power Elite. Mills was concerned with the responsibilities of intellectuals in post-World War II society, and advocated public and political engagement over uninterested observation.

Charles Wright Mills
Charles Wright Mills (als Autor C. Wright Mills, * 28. August 1916 in Waco im US-Bundesstaat Texas; † 20. März 1962 in Nyack, New York) war ein US-amerikanischer Soziologe. C. Wright Mills
Charles Wright Mills, född 27 augusti 1916 i Waco i Texas, död 20 mars 1962 i Nyack i New York, var en amerikansk sociolog. Han var en av 1900-talets mest betydelsefulla sociologer och en av de mest lästa även utanför akademiska kretsar. Han är känd inte minst för sina studier av maktförhållanden i det amerikanska samhället. Från 1946 fram till sin död var Mills professor vid Columbia University i New York.

Charles Wright Mills
Charles Wright Mills (ur. 28 sierpnia 1916 w Waco w Teksasie - zm. 20 marca 1962 w Nyack w Nowym Jorku), socjolog amerykański.
W 1939 ukończył uniwersytet stanowy Teksasu, dwa lata później obronił doktorat na uniwersytecie stanowym Wisconsin. Od 1946 był wykładowcą Columbia University.
Był twórcą wyrażenia "wyobraźnia socjologiczna", za pomocą którego chciał poszerzyć spojrzenie jednostek na rzeczywistość, zazwyczaj ograniczone do najbliższego kręgu społecznego. Twierdził, że socjologia powinna skoncentrować się na szerszych siłach społecznych wpływających na jednostki. Wyobraźnia socjologiczna miała pomagać ludziom w przekroczeniu ograniczonego, osobistego doświadczenia oraz pozwalać im dojrzeć związki z innymi i z instytucją społeczeństwa jako całości.
