is the easternmost and least populous state or Land of Austria. It consists of two Statutarstädte (towns with a charter) and seven districts with in total 171 municipalities. It is 166 km long from north to south but much narrower from west to east (5 km wide at Sieggraben). The region is a part of the Centrope Project.

Das Burgenland (burgenlandkroatisch und kroatisch: Gradišce [], ungarisch Felsoorvidék, Orvidék, oder Lajtabánság, Slowenisch: Gradišcanska, Prekmurisch: Gradišce) ist das östlichste und gemessen an der Einwohnerzahl kleinste Bundesland der Republik Österreich. Das Gebiet gehörte einst zum Königreich Ungarn, das im Vertrag von Trianon 1920 verpflichtet wurde, das damalige „Deutsch-Westungarn“ an Österreich abzutreten. 1921 wurde diese Verpflichtung großteils erfüllt und von der neuen Republik Österreich der Name Burgenland neu eingeführt.

L'État fédéré du Burgenland (en croate Gradišce) est le Bundesland le plus à l'est de l'Autriche. Il est le plus jeune (il ne fait partie de l'Autriche que depuis 1921) et aussi le plus plat de l'Autriche.

Burgenland (ungerska Felsőőrvidék, Őrvidék eller Lajtabánság, kroatiska Gradišće) är en delstat (tyska: Bundesland) i östra Österrike. Huvudstad i Burgenland är Eisenstadt.
