Buganda is a subnational kingdom within Uganda. The kingdom of the Ganda people, Buganda is the largest of the traditional kingdoms in present-day Uganda, comprising all of Uganda's Central Region, including the Ugandan capital Kampala. The 5.5 million Baganda (singular Muganda; often referred to simply by the root word and adjective, Ganda) make up the largest Ugandan ethnic group, representing approximately 16.9% of Uganda's population.

Buganda ist ein Königreich im heutigen Uganda in Afrika. Das Königreich wird von den 52 Clans der Baganda getragen. (Erklärung: Das Königreich heißt Buganda. Die Einwohner sind die Baganda (singular: Muganda) und ihre Sprache ist Luganda.) Der Name Uganda ist der Swahili-Ausdruck für Buganda und wurde 1894 durch die britischen Beamten des Protektorats übernommen. Le nom d'Ouganda, le mot Swahili pour Bouganda a été adopté par les autorités britanniques en 1894 quand ils créèrent le protectorat ougandais, centré au Bouganda. Les frontières du Bouganda sont marquées par le Lac Victoria au Sud, le Nil Victoria à l'est et le Lac Kyoga au nord.

Buganda är ett kungarike i mellersta och södra delen av Uganda. Befolkningen i Buganda kallas baganda, även förkortat ganda. Bagandafolket är den största folkgruppen i Uganda och utgör ungefär 16,9% av landets befolkning. Bugandas språk är, vid sidan av engelska, luganda.
