Broadway is one of the avenues in the borough of Manhattan, New York City, United States, which runs through almost the entire length of Manhattan island and continues northward through the Bronx borough before terminating in Westchester County, New York. It is the oldest north–south main thoroughfare in the city, dating to the first New Amsterdam settlement. The name Broadway is the English literal translation of the Dutch name, Breede weg. A stretch of Broadway is known worldwide as the heart of the American theatre industry.

Der Broadway [] ist eine Haupt- und Geschäftsstraße im New Yorker Stadtteil Manhattan und gleichzeitig die älteste und mit mehr als 25 km Länge längste Nord-Süd-Durchquerung der Insel. Diese Straße stammt zu Teilen noch aus einem alten Indianerpfad, den die ersten holländischen Siedler übernommen und zu einer Straße ausgebaut haben. Das südliche Ende des Broadways liegt am Bowling Green nahe der Südspitze Manhattans. Er führt quer durch die Insel zur nördlichsten Spitze, wo er den Harlem River mittels der Broadway Bridge überquert, geht weiter durch die Bronx und den Kreis Westchester, entlang des Hudson River, bis er schließlich zur New-York-Albany-Poststraße wird und im Zuge des U.S. Highway 9 bis nach Albany, der Hauptstadt des Staates New York, führt.

Broadway est un des principaux axes nord-sud de Manhattan, le quartier (borough) central de New York. C'est le seul axe qui s'étende du sud (de Bowling Green) au nord de l'île. Broadway est une des rares rues de Manhattan qui traverse l'île en diagonale et ne respecte donc pas le plan de quadrillage qui a été établi en 1881. De ce fait, elle a conduit à la construction de curiosités architecturales comme l'immeuble du fer à repasser (Flatiron Building).
