British Mandate of Palestine

The British Mandate for Palestine, sometimes referred to as the Mandate of Palestine, was a League of Nations Mandate created after the First World War when the Ottoman Empire was split by the Treaty of Sèvres. The British Mandate of Palestine comprised territory that now comprises modern-day Jordan, Israel, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. The borders of the Mandate for Palestine extended from the Mediterranean Sea to the west, the French Mandate of Lebanon, French Mandate of Syria, and the British Mandate of Mesopotamia to the north, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the east and south, and the Kingdom of Egypt to the south-west.

Brytyjski Mandat Palestyny, czasami nazywany Mandatem Palestyny, był mandatem Ligi Narodów utworzonym po I wojnie światowej na części terytoriów Imperium Osmańskiego. Brytyjski Mandat Palestyny obejmował tereny współczesnych państw Jordanii, Izraela oraz Autonomię Palestyńską. El Mandato Británico de Palestina fue una administración territorial encomendada por la Sociedad de Naciones al Reino Unido en Oriente Medio tras la Primera Guerra Mundial, con el estatus de territorio bajo mandato. Formado durante la mayor parte de su historia por el Estado de Israel y los Territorios Palestinos, aunque en un primer momento incluyó también la actual Jordania. Este territorio perteneció previamente al Imperio Otomano. Aunque Gran Bretaña administraba estos territorios de facto desde 1917, el Mandato entró en vigor en 1922 y expiró en mayo de 1948.
