The BRAT diet is a historically prescribed treatment for patients with various forms of gastrointestinal distress such as diarrhea, dyspepsia, and/or gastroenteritis. The BRAT diet consists of foods that are relatively bland, easy to digest, and low in fiber. Low-fiber foods are recommended because foods high in fiber may cause gas, possibly worsening the gastrointestinal upset.

Brät oder Wurstbrät (von althochdeutsch brato, „schieres Fleisch, Weichteile“) ist feingehacktes oder gemahlenes Fleisch, wie es zur Wurstherstellung verwendet wird. Neben Salz und Gewürzen wird häufig auch Wasser zugegeben, um eine für die Wurstherstellung geeignete Konsistenz zu erreichen.Hergestellt wird Brät mit dem Fleischwolf oder industriell mit dem Kutter – dann wird Wasser meist als Eis zugegeben, um die Masse trotz der hohen Verarbeitungsgeschwindigkeit kühl zu halten und so ein Gerinnen des Eiweißes zu verhindern. Früher wurde Brät von Hand mit dem Wiegemesser oder Mörser hergestellt.

Brat – nazwa  relacji rodzinnej dla krewnego drugiego stopnia w linii bocznej o płci męskiej, należącego do rodzeństwa. Brat może mieć z probantem tych samych oboje rodziców bądź tylko jednego wspólnego (brat przyrodni). Sensu stricto tzw. brat przybrany (syn ojczyma lub macochy z ich poprzednich związków) nie jest krewnym ani powinowatym.
