Bordeaux
(Gascon: Bordèu) is a port city in the southwest of France, with one million inhabitants in its metropolitan area at a 2007 estimate. It is the capital of the Aquitaine region, as well as the prefecture of the Gironde department. Its inhabitants are called Bordelais.With a population of 1,200,000 inhabitants in the Bordeaux-Arcachon-Libourne metropolitan area, the fifth metropolitan area in France is known to be the world's wine industry capital, and it is considered Europe's main military space and aeronautics research and construction complex. Bordeaux wine draws its name from the city around which it has been produced since the 8th century. The historic part of the city is on the UNESCO World Heritage List as "an outstanding urban and architectural ensemble" of the 18th century.

Bordeaux (Bordèu en gascon, Burdigala en latin) est une ville du sud-ouest de la France, chef-lieu de la région Aquitaine et préfecture du département de la Gironde. Elle fait partie de la Communauté urbaine de Bordeaux. La commune est peuplée de habitants (2008), tandis que l'aire urbaine compte plus d'un million d'habitants. L'axe Bordeaux-Arcachon-Libourne compte quant à lui près de 1,2 million d'habitants.

Die Universitätsstadt Bordeaux [] ist politisches, wirtschaftliches und geistiges Zentrum des französischen Südwestens. Ihre etwa 230.000 Einwohner nennen sich Bordelais. Berühmtheit hat die Stadt insbesondere durch den Bordeauxwein und ihre Küche erlangt, aber auch durch ihr bauliches und kulturelles Erbe. Bordeaux ist Sitz der Präfektur des Départements Gironde und Hauptstadt der Region Aquitaine, ferner Sitz eines Erzbischofs und eines deutschen Konsulats.

Bordeaux
Bordeaux (in occitano guascone Bordèu [burˈðɛw]) è un comune francese di 230.600 abitanti, capoluogo del dipartimento della Gironda e della regione dell'Aquitania. L'area metropolitana comprendente anche Libourne e Arcachon conta 1.200.000 abitanti. La città, attraversata dalla Garonna, fa parte della Guascogna ed è nota in tutto il mondo per l'omonimo Bordeaux. Nel 2007 l'UNESCO ha definito il centro storico di Bordeaux un patrimonio dell'umanità.
